The artist has handed over the complete sum of his £25,000 award winnings to the MVT, which functions to save the United Kingdom's independent concert spaces.
The star was presented with the cheque on mid-October as his new release the album was declared the top album of the past year.
Fender has opted to give the cash to the MVT, in acknowledgment of the essential function local spots had in his early career.
"I wouldn't be doing my current career if it wasn't for all the performances I played around the area, and elsewhere, when I was just getting going," said the artist. "These locations are renowned, but they are in difficulty."
From early 2023 onward, over 150 of these venues have shut down – roughly 16 percent of the whole industry in the UK.
In the last year, major artists such as Pulp, Coldplay, Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran have all aided the Music Venues Trust in its attempts to support the industry, by adding a small levy to their ticket costs, which supports local stages.
Fender also joined in, generating more than £100,000 on his 2024 arena tour to assist thirty-eight small stages across the UK.
These funds helped locations that were dealing with potential shutdown due to challenges caused by floods, fires and bereavements, as well as regulatory hurdles, legal disputes and sound issues.
Additional spaces received financial assistance in modernizing facilities and gear that helped performers and fans.
"The concept that money from concerts in large arenas supports the local stages, where it kicks off for performers like me, is just sensible," Sam Fender has said.
He is not the first artist to give his award funds to charitable organizations.
Back when they won the prize in 1996 for their record the album, lead singer the singer announced that the group would give their winnings to the charity the charity.
In 2002, artist Ms Dynamite shared her bounty between several organizations, such as the NSPCC and a Sickle Cell charity.
"And I gave a grand to my local community centre, to their gymnastics class, because I practiced gymnastics when I was younger and they required new equipment," the artist explained to a publication.
Previously, the band gave their funds to the community center that nurtured their group, in addition to other local music groups.
And the 1994 recipients they gave their winnings to a charity for MS after a close contact was identified with the condition.
"Receiving the award was sufficient," stated vocalist Heather Small. "The money was the cherry on top but we could do without the extra, because we had the honor. So our success impacted the lives of others."
Last week, the trust revealed it had rescued a couple of grassroots venues in south-east England, by placing them under community ownership.
The Joiners in the city and the second in the city were purchased under the community ownership scheme, which is supported by the arts council and enthusiasts who purchase "stakes" in the venues.
